Then Davidand his men,about sixhundred,aroseand departedfrom Keilah,and they wentwhereverthey could go.When it was toldSaulthat Davidhad escapedfrom Keilah,he gaveup the pursuit.
Now allhis servantspassedon besidehim, allthe Cherethites,allthe Pelethitesand allthe Gittites,sixhundredmenwhohad comewith him from Gath,passedon beforethe king.
"You came[only] yesterday,and shall I todaymake you wanderwith us, while I gowhereI will? Returnand takebackyour brothers;mercyand truthbe with you."
