Then Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat,an Ephraimiteof Zeredah,Solomon'sservant,whose mother'snamewas Zeruah,a widow,also rebelledagainst the king.
and Ahitubbecamethe fatherof Zadok,and Zadokbecamethe fatherof Shallum,
The sonsof Kohath[were] Amminadabhis son,Korahhis son,Assirhis son,
Theseare those who servedwith their sons:From the sonsof the Kohathites[were] Hemanthe singer,the sonof Joel,the sonof Samuel,
the sonof Elkanah,the sonof Jeroham,the sonof Eliel,the sonof Toah,
When it was evening,there camea richmanfrom Arimathea,namedJoseph,whohimselfhad alsobecome a discipleof Jesus.
And Eleazarthe sonof Aarondied;and they buriedhim at Gibeahof Phinehashis son,whichwas givenhim in the hillcountryof Ephraim.
The Gileaditescapturedthe fordsof the Jordanopposite Ephraim.And it happenedwhen[any of] the fugitivesof Ephraimsaid,"Let me crossover,"the menof Gileadwould sayto him, "Are you an Ephraimite?"If he said,"No,"
Now there was a manof the hillcountryof Ephraimwhose namewas Micah.
Now it cameabout in thosedays,when therewas nokingin Israel,that there was a certainLevitestayingin the remotepartof the hillcountryof Ephraim,who tooka concubinefor himself from Bethlehemin Judah.
She used to situnderthe palmtreeof DeborahbetweenRamahand Bethelin the hillcountryof Ephraim;and the sonsof Israelcameup to her for judgment.
The nameof the man[was] Elimelech,and the nameof his wife,Naomi;and the namesof his twosons[were] Mahlonand Chilion,Ephrathitesof Bethlehemin Judah.Now they enteredthe landof Moaband remainedthere.
and to Obedwas bornJesse,and to Jesse,David.
Then they aroseearlyin the morningand worshipedbeforethe LORD,and returnedagainto their housein Ramah.And Elkanahhadrelationswith Hannahhis wife,and the LORDrememberedher.
Now Davidwas the sonof the Ephrathiteof Bethlehemin Judah,whose namewas Jesse,and he had eightsons.And Jesse was oldin the daysof Saul,advanced[in years] among men.
Then Elkanahwentto his homeat Ramah.But the boyministeredto the LORDbeforeElithe priest.
Then his return[was] to Ramah,for his house[was] there,and therehe judgedIsrael;and he builttherean altarto the LORD.
He passedthrough the hillcountryof Ephraimand passedthrough the landof Shalishah,but they did not find[them]. Then they passedthrough the landof Shaalim,but [they were] not [there]. Then he passedthrough the landof the Benjamites,but they did not find[them].
When they cameto the landof Zuph,Saulsaidto his servantwhowas with him, "Come,and let us return,orelsemy fatherwill cease[to be concerned] aboutthe donkeysand will becomeanxiousfor us."
