Now a certain mandrewhis bowat randomand struckthe kingof Israelin a jointof the armor.So he saidto the driverof his chariot,"Turnaroundand takeme out of the fight;for I amseverelywounded."
Then two hundredmenwentwith Absalomfrom Jerusalem,who were invitedand wentinnocently,and they did not knowanything.
So he said,"I sawallIsraelScatteredon the mountains,Like sheepwhichhavenoshepherd.And the LORDsaid,'Thesehave nomaster.Let eachof them returnto his housein peace.'"
When the captainsof the chariotssawthat it was not the kingof Israel,they turnedbackfrom pursuinghim.
The battleragedthat day,and the kingwas proppedup in his chariotin frontof the Arameans,and diedat evening,and the bloodfrom the woundraninto the bottomof the chariot.
And Jehudrewhis bowwith his fullstrengthand shotJorambetweenhis arms;and the arrowwentthroughhis heartand he sankin his chariot.
Now the kingof Aramhad commandedthe captainsof his chariots,saying,"Do not fightwith smallor great,but with the kingof Israelalone."
The archersshotKingJosiah,and the kingsaidto his servants,"Takeme away,for I am badlywounded."
Whois therewho speaksand it comesto pass,Unlessthe Lordhas commanded[it]?
"So alsoI will make[you] sick,strikingyou down,Desolating[you] becauseof your sins.
They hadbreastplateslikebreastplatesof iron;and the soundof their wingswas likethe soundof chariots,of manyhorsesrushingto battle.
And Davidputhis handinto his bagand tookfrom it a stoneand slung[it], and struckthe Philistineon his forehead.And the stonesankinto his forehead,so that he fellon his faceto the ground.
