Now [David] builthousesfor himself in the cityof David;and he prepareda placefor the arkof Godand pitcheda tentfor it.
However the kingsaid,"Let him turnto his own house,and let him not seemy face."So Absalomturnedto his own houseand did not seethe king'sface.
So Davidlivedin the strongholdand calledit the cityof David.And Davidbuiltallaroundfrom the Milloand inward.
Now it was toldKingDavid,saying,"The LORDhas blessedthe houseof Obed-edomand allthat belongs to him, on accountof the arkof God."Davidwentand broughtup the arkof Godfrom the houseof Obed-edominto the cityof Davidwith gladness.
So they broughtin the arkof the LORDand setit in its placeinsidethe tentwhichDavidhad pitchedfor it; and Davidofferedburntofferingsand peaceofferingsbeforethe LORD.
and saidto them, "You are the headsof the fathers'[households] of the Levites;consecrateyourselves both you and your relatives,that you may bringup the arkof the LORDGodof Israelto [the place] that I have preparedfor it.
And DavidassembledallIsraelat Jerusalemto bringup the arkof the LORDto its placewhichhe had preparedfor it.
And they broughtin the arkof Godand placedit insidethe tentwhichDavidhad pitchedfor it, and they offeredburntofferingsand peaceofferingsbeforeGod.
Now theseare those whomDavidappointedoverthe serviceof songin the houseof the LORD,afterthe arkrested[there].
However,Davidhad broughtup the arkof Godfrom Kiriath-jearimto the place he had preparedfor it, for he had pitcheda tentfor it in Jerusalem.
ThenSolomonassembledto Jerusalemthe eldersof Israeland allthe headsof the tribes,the leadersof the fathers'[households] of the sonsof Israel,to bringup the arkof the covenantof the LORDout of the cityof David,whichis Zion.
UntilI finda placefor the LORD,A dwellingplacefor the MightyOneof Jacob."
