Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord. And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen. And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.
Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honourable in the sight of all men.If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, And the LORD shall reward thee.
Ye know this, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you, bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love: But he that harpeth on a matter separateth chief friends.
See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but alway follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God.He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.after the same manner shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back.Remember Lot's wife.Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.I say unto you, In that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. There shall be two women grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. And they answering say unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body is, thither will the eagles also be gathered together. And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Ghost which was given unto us.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.
rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger; And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Then came Peter, and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times?Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.
I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, And plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of meekness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell.
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And parting his garments among them, they cast lots.
For judgement is without mercy to him that hath shewed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgement.
So then let us follow after things which make for peace, and things whereby we may edify one another.
But to whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also: for what I also have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes have I forgiven it in the person of Christ;that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and follow after faithfulness. The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, And his tongue speaketh judgement. The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide. The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.The LORD will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, And he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil. But one passed by, and, lo, he was not: Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: For the latter end of that man is peace. As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together: The latter end of the wicked shall be cut off.But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: He is their strong hold in the time of trouble.Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding:In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:looking carefully lest there be any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled;
In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honour preferring one another;
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He that is slow to anger is of great understanding: But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; But ye did not so learn Christ;if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, which waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, which after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:neither give place to the devil.Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Ghost.
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; Slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all; And his tender mercies are over all his works.
For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:And let him turn away from evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.
Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
Judge not, that ye be not judged.or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many be they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few be they that find it.Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.
For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another:
Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.
doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;because for the work of Christ he came nigh unto death, hazarding his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me and know my thoughts:And see if there be any way of wickedness in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
It is an honour for a man to keep aloof from strife: But every fool will be quarrelling.
Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbour hath fulfilled the law.
Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.
who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honour preferring one another;in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;communicating to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honourable in the sight of all men.If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord. And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
He that spareth his words hath knowledge: And he that is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding.Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: When he shutteth his lips, he is esteemed as prudent.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected; be comforted; be of the same mind; live in peace: and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.Add he shall make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy judgement as the noonday.
But when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works;not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
And if thy brother sin against thee, go, shew him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:using hospitality one to another without murmuring:
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: And such contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, And he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?
Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.
And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.
Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil: But to the counsellors of peace is joy.
Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings;that ye may be blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me: Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: But perverseness therein is a breaking of the spirit.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.
These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Even so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
