My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to your word.


Confirm to your servant your promise, which is for those who fear you.


See, I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness be gracious to me.


Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!


Wake up! Rouse yourself for my defense, for my cause, my God and my Lord!

May the Lord, therefore, be judge and give sentence between me and you. May he see to it and plead my cause and vindicate me against you.”


When David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, “Is this your voice, my son David?” Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
