When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I may do for you before I am taken from you.” Elisha said, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit.”

They bestowed many honors on us, and when we were about to sail, they put on board all the provisions we needed.


the encourager, in encouragement; the giver, in sincerity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.


They were pleased to do this, and indeed they owe it to them, for if the gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material things.


Greet those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet the beloved Persis, who has worked hard in the Lord.


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I but the grace of God that is with me.


I urge you to put yourselves at the service of such people and of everyone who works and toils with them.


For we are God’s coworkers, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.


As we work together with him, we entreat you also not to accept the grace of God in vain.


Those who are taught the word must share in all good things with their teacher.


They shall have equal portions to eat, even though they have income from the sale of family possessions.

Welcome him, then, in the Lord with all joy, and honor such people,

for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?

Never accept any accusation against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage with the utmost patience in teaching.


Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with sighing, for that would be harmful to you.


Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings.


Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
