He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the end.


He has confirmed his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us a calamity so great that what has been done against Jerusalem has never before been done under the whole heaven.


I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years that, according to the word of the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah, must be fulfilled for the devastation of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years.


Therefore, I will now allure her and bring her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her.


On that day, says the Lord, you will call me “my husband,” and no longer will you call me “my Baal.”


For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.


The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has turned away your enemies. The king of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall fear disaster no more.


Then the Lord replied with gracious and comforting words to the angel who spoke with me.


and I am extremely angry with the nations that are at ease, for while I was only a little angry, they made the disaster worse.


Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.


He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.


But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,


Render to her as she herself has rendered, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double dose for her in the cup she mixed.
