I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house,


for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.


You know for yourselves that I worked with my own hands to support myself and my companions.


When he had finished speaking, he knelt down with them all and prayed.


We who are strong ought to put up with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.


If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.


And what I do I will also continue to do, in order to deny an opportunity to those who want an opportunity to be recognized as our equals in what they boast about.


And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for my needs were supplied by the brothers who came from Macedonia. So I refrained and will continue to refrain from burdening you in any way.


How have you been worse off than the other churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!


For you know the generous act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.


Those who steal must give up stealing; rather, let them labor, doing good work with their own hands, so as to have something to share with the needy.


to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we directed you,


And we urge you, brothers and sisters, to admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them.


Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.


Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.


for they began their journey for the sake of Christ, accepting no support from nonbelievers.
