Addiction and bad habits can be so destructive. Think about it, addiction is clinging to something—a behavior, a substance, an activity, even a person—that's actually harming you. So many of us struggle with these things, feeling trapped by a vice or an addiction. Sometimes, we feel like it's because of our past.
But here's the truth: in God, we're free. Christ set us free from all of that and forgave our sins. If you keep dwelling on the past, those chains can really hold you back. Sometimes, these struggles can even stem from negative spiritual influences, finding a foothold and coming to light when we unknowingly open a door, giving the enemy a legal right to step in.
You have the power to let go of what's binding you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of bondage you need to address. Receive God's forgiveness and His healing. He's there for you.
I pray that we all find freedom from anything that's hurting us and holding us back. Just like it says in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf,
that He might sanctify her, cleansing it by the bathing of the water in the Word,
When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, and he shall not be given any thing to do. He shall be free at his own house for one year, and shall gladden his wife whom he has taken.
And if one overpowers him, two shall stand before him; and a threefold cord is not quickly torn apart.
And now faith, hope, and love, these three things remain; but the greatest of these is love.
Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as is becoming in the Lord.
Husbands, love the wives and do not be bitter against them.
Let the husband give due kindness to the wife, and likewise the wife also to the husband.
The wife does not have authority of her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.
“For this reason , a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.” Gen. 2:24
Therefore, as elect ones of God, holy and beloved, put on bowels of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering,
bearing with one another and forgiving yourselves, if anyone has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also you should forgive.
But above all these, put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also were called in one body, and coming to be thankful.
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And every thing, whatever you do in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him.
Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.
But let not fornication, and all uncleanness, or greediness, be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
also baseness, and foolish talking, or joking (the things not becoming), but rather thanksgiving.
For be knowing this, that every fornicator, or unclean one, or covetous one, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
but speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the head, the Christ,
Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord,
because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the Assembly, and He is Savior of the body.
But even as the Assembly is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf,
that He might sanctify her, cleansing it by the bathing of the water in the Word,
that He might present her to Himself as the glorious Assembly, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that she be holy and without blemish.
So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, (he loving his wife loves himself),
for then no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes her, even as also the Lord the Assembly.
For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.
“For this reason , a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.” Gen. 2:24
The mystery is great, but I speak as to Christ and as to the Assembly.
However, you also, everyone, let each love his wife as himself, and the wife, that she give deference to the husband.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf,
because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the Assembly, and He is Savior of the body.
Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be caused to cease; if tongues, they shall cease; if knowledge, it will be caused to cease.
but because of fornication, let each one have his own wife, and let each one have her own husband.
Mercy and truth will not forsake you; tie them on your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart;
and you shall find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Likewise, wives, submitting yourselves to your own husbands, that even if any disobey the Word, through the behavior of the wives, without a word they will be won,
observing your pure behavior in fear.
Of whom let it not be the outward act of braiding of hairs, and of putting gold around, or putting on garments of adornment,
but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before God.
For so formerly also the holy women, the ones hoping on God adorned themselves, submitting themselves to their own husbands,
as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good, and fearing no terror. Gen. 18:12
Likewise, husbands, dwelling together according to knowledge, as with a weaker vessel, the feminine one, bestowing honor, as truly being co-heirs of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be a propitiation concerning our sins.
but before all things having fervent love to yourselves, “because love will cover a multitude of sins”. Prov. 10:12
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him,
having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being confirmed in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Watch that there will not be one abducting you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
and having been filled, you are in Him, who is the Head of all rule and authority,
And Jehovah God said, It is not good, the man being alone. I will make a helper corresponding to him.
Look on life with the wife whom you love all the days of the life of your vanity, which He gave you under the sun, all the days of your vanity. For that is your portion in this life, and in your labor which you as a laborer do under the sun.
wishing to be teachers of law, not understanding, neither the things what things they say, nor about what things they confidently affirm.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
Love patiently endures, is kind; love is not envious; love boasts not itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave unbecomingly, does not seek the things of itself, is not easily provoked, does not impute evil;
does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth.
Love quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
You have heard that it was said to the ancients: “Do not commit adultery.” Ex. 20:14; Deut. 5:18
But I say to you, Everyone looking at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm. For love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as Sheol; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of Jehovah.
Many waters cannot quench love, and the rivers will not overflow it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, despising they would despise him.
And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.
And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the seas, and over birds of the heavens, and over every living creaturemoving on the earth.
Who can find a woman of virtue? For her value is far above jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her, so that he has no lack of gain.
She deals good with him, and not evil, all the days of her life.
with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love,
being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
but because of fornication, let each one have his own wife, and let each one have her own husband.
Let the husband give due kindness to the wife, and likewise the wife also to the husband.
The wife does not have authority of her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.
Do not deprive one another, if not by agreement for a time, that you may devote yourselves to fasting and to prayer. And come together again on the same place, that Satan may not tempt you through your lack of self-control.
fulfill my joy, that you think the same, having the same love, one in soul, being mindful of the one thing,
doing nothing according to intrigue or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another, as being better than themselves;
each one not looking at the things of themselves, but each one also the things of others.
in brotherly love toward one another, loving tenderly, going before one another in honor;
For, brothers, you were called to freedom. Only do not use the freedom for an opening to the flesh. But through love be slaves to one another.
Therefore, I purpose the younger women to marry, to bear children, to rule the house, giving no occasion to the one opposing, because of reproach.
A Song of Ascents, for Solomon. If Jehovah does not build the house, they labor in vain that build it; if Jehovah does not keep the city, the one keeping it stays awake in vain.
But answering, He said to them, Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning “created them male and female”? Gen. 1:27
And He said, “On account of this a man shall leave father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Gen. 2:24
So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate.
But I command the ones being married (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from her husband;
but if indeed she is separated, remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband not to let his wife go.
It was also said, Whoever puts away his wife, “let him give her a bill of divorce.” Deut. 24:1
But I say to you, Whoever puts away his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry the one put away commits adultery.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his family, he has denied the faith and is worse than a faithless one.
But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,
meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law.
A multitude of men will proclaim each his own kindness, but who can find a faithful man?
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers, but a wife who acts prudently is from Jehovah.
You have ravished My heart, My sister, My spouse; you have ravished My heart with one of your eyes, with one string of beads from your neck.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O Jehovah, my Rock and my Redeemer.
