Think about giving – it's truly beautiful in God's eyes. When you're preparing your offering, remember it should be your best, given with a sincere heart. It should be a joyful act, knowing how much God has already blessed us with, even when we don't deserve it. He's been incredibly generous, hasn't He?
If you only give what's leftover, well, life might just mirror that back to you. Think about it – give as if you're giving to yourself. Don't do it out of obligation or because you expect something in return. True giving comes from the heart.
Don't make a big show of it either. It's not about getting praised or patted on the back. Let your giving be a quiet act between you and God. He sees what's in your heart, and He loves a cheerful giver. Remember what it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
Giving is an act of worship, a way to give back a portion of what God has already given us. And when God gives, He gives abundantly. When you offer from the heart, you're opening the door for even more blessings. The more you give, the more you receive. It's a beautiful cycle.
You adulteresses! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers.
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not welcome him into your home or even give him a greeting.
For the one greeting him shares in his evil deeds.
Do not be friends with one given to anger or associate with a hot-tempered person,
lest you learn his ways, and entangle your soul in a snare.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
But now I am writing to you not to mix together with anyone who is being called a brother if he is sexually immoral or greedy or an idolater or a slanderer or a drunkard or a swindler—not even to eat with such a fellow.
A man with many friends may be harmed by them, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Bitterly she weeps in the night, her tears are on her cheeks. Among all her lovers, there is no one to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her. They have become her enemies!
Whoever covers up an offense seeks love. Whoever repeats a matter separates close friends.
Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, to keep away from every brother who behaves irresponsibly and not according to the tradition they received from us.
Dismiss a quarrelsome person after a first and second warning,
knowing that such a person is twisted and is sinning—he is self- condemned.
For the devious are detestable to Adonai, but He takes the upright into His confidence.
Whoever works his land will be satisfied with food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
Jehu son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate Adonai? Because of this, wrath from before Adonai is against you.
I have not sat with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites.
I detest the company of evildoers, and do not sit with the wicked.
If anyone does not obey our message in this letter, take special note of him and do not associate with him, so that he may be put to shame.
Yet do not consider him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.
Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night.
He will be like a planted tree over streams of water, producing its fruit during its season. Its leaf never droops— but in all he does, he succeeds.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
If only You would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloody men!
Whenever I sit down or stand up, You know it. You discern my thinking from afar.
For they speak about You with wicked intent. Your enemies reproach You in vain.
Do I not hate those who hate You, Adonai? Do I not loathe those who rise against You?
I hate them with total hatred— I consider them my enemies.
You were running a great race! Who blocked you from following the truth?
This detour doesn’t come from the One who calls you.
A little hametz works its way through the whole batch of dough!
Stay alert! Watch out! Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, searching for someone to devour.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For everything in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
The world is passing away along with its desire, but the one who does the will of God abides forever.
Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep your eye on those who are causing divisions and stumbling blocks, contrary to the teaching that you learned. Turn away from them.
For such people do not serve our Lord the Messiah, but only their own belly. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
But you, O man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
Fight the good fight of faith! Take hold of the eternal life—you were called to it, and you made the good confession for it in the presence of many witnesses.
My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in.
Suppose they say: “Come with us! Let’s lie in wait for blood! Let’s ambush the innocent— for no reason!
Let’s swallow them alive like Sheol— still healthy, as they go down to the Pit!
We’ll find all sorts of valuable things, we’ll fill our homes with loot!
Throw your lot in with us— we’ll all have one wallet.”
My son, do not go along with them, keep your foot from their path—
One who walks in integrity, walks securely, but one who takes crooked paths will be discovered.
They are surprised that you do not run with them into the same riot of recklessness, and they vilify you.
“Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Like a broken tooth or a lame foot is confidence in the unfaithful in time of trouble.
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught doing something wrong, you who are directed by the Ruach, restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness—looking closely at yourself so you are not tempted also.
Now flee from youthful desires; instead, pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and shalom, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
They became filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice. They are gossips,
Concerning His Son, He came into being from the seed of David according to the flesh.
slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents.
They are foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
Though they know God’s righteous decree—that those who practice such things deserve death—they not only do them but also approve of others who practice the same.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For everything in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
