106 Bible verses that are difficult to explain

I've found that the best way to explain something truly difficult is to have lived it firsthand. Walking the walk every day gives you the tools you need to share a message of salvation that can really reach people. There's just nothing like sharing a life-changing message that's rooted in your own experiences.

But here's the thing: it's so important to remember the role of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit has the full picture and the patience to guide us into a deeper understanding. We can't just rely on our own thinking or even other people's stories, because we might find ourselves at a loss when we try to share something we haven't truly encountered ourselves.

The Holy Spirit is ready and willing to teach us today. It's all about being open to that guidance.

1 Peter 3:18-19

For Christ also suffered once to atone for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit,

by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,

And the Lord said to him, Have you diligently considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on all the earth, a blameless man, true, godly, abstaining from everything evil?

Then the devil answered, and said before the Lord, Does Job worship the Lord for nothing?

Have You not made a hedge about him, and about his household, and all his possessions round about? And have You not blessed the works of his hands, and multiplied his substance upon the land?

But put forth Your hand, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.

Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give all that he has into your hand, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord.

Seventy weeks have been determined upon your people, and upon the holy city, for sin to be ended, to seal up transgressions, to blot out iniquities, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted.

And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations.

And one week shall establish the covenant with many. And in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of the time an end shall be put to the desolation.

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord irreverently will be guilty of the body of the Lord and of the blood of the Lord.

And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to their works.

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death, the Lake of Fire.

Ezekiel 37:1-14

And the hand of the Lord came upon me, and the Lord brought me forth by the Spirit, and set me in the midst of the plain, and it was full of human bones.

And He led me round about them every way. And behold, there were very many on the face of the plain, and very dry.

And He said to me, Son of man, will these bones live? And I said, O Lord God, only You know this!

And He said to me, Prophesy upon these bones, and you shall say to them, You dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

Thus says the Lord to these bones: Behold, I will bring upon you the breath of life;

and I will lay sinews upon you, and I will bring up flesh upon you, and spread skin upon you, and I will put My Spirit into you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

So I prophesied as the Lord commanded me. And it came to pass while I was prophesying, that behold, there was a rattling, and the bones approached each one to his joint.

And I looked, and behold, sinews and flesh grew upon them, and skin came upon them above. But there was not breath in them.

And He said to me, Prophesy to the wind; prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus says the Lord: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these dead, that they may live.

So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath entered into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, a very great congregation.

And the Lord spoke to me, saying, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: and they say, Our bones have become dry, our hope has perished, we are quite spent.

Therefore prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will open your tombs, and will bring you up out of your tombs, and I will bring you into the land of Israel.

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, that I may bring up My people from their graves.

And I will put My Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you upon your own land; and you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and will do it, says the Lord.

Matthew 25:31-46

"And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then will He sit upon His glorious throne.

All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on His left.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;

I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'

"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?

When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?

Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

"And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me.'

"Then He will also say to those on the left, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;

I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'

"Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and we did not minister to You?'

"Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, neither did you do it to Me.'

"And these shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Luke 16:19-31

"Now there was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen, enjoying himself splendidly every day.

But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores, who had been placed at his gate,

and longing to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. And even the dogs came and would lick his sores.

And it came to pass that the beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.

And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.'

But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things, but now here he is comforted and you are suffering.

And besides all this, between us and you a great gulf has been fixed, so that those who desire to cross over from here to you are not able, nor may those from there cross over to us.'

Then he said, 'Therefore I beseech you, father, that you would send him to my father's house,

for I have five brothers, so that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'

Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'

And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if someone from the dead should go to them, they will repent.'

But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded should one rise from the dead.' "

And Saul disguised himself, and put on other clothing, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night. Then he said to her, Divine to me by the divining spirit within you, and bring up to me him whom I shall name to you.

And the woman said to him, Behold now, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who had divining spirits in them, and the wizards from the land; and why do you spread a snare for my life to destroy it?

And Saul swore to her, and said, As the Lord lives, no injury shall come upon you on this account.

And the woman said, Whom shall I bring up to you? And he said, Bring up to me Samuel.

And the woman saw Samuel, and cried out with a loud voice. And the woman said to Saul, Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!

And the king said to her, Fear not; tell me, what did you see? And the woman said to him, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

And he said to her, What did you understand it to be? And she said to him, I see an upright man ascending out of the earth, and he is clothed with a mantle. And Saul knew that this was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down to him.

And Samuel said, Why have you troubled me, that I should come up? And Saul said, I am greatly distressed, and the Philistines war against me, and God has departed from me, and no longer hearkens to me either by the hand of the prophets, or by dreams. And now I have called on you, to tell me what I shall do.

And Samuel said, Why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you, and taken part with your neighbor?

And the Lord has done to you as the Lord has spoken by me; and the Lord will tear your kingdom out of your hand, and will give it to your neighbor David.

Because you did not heed the voice of the Lord, and did not execute His fierce anger upon Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day.

And the Lord shall deliver Israel with you into the hands of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons with you shall fall, and the Lord shall deliver the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines.

And Saul instantly fell at his full length upon the earth, and was greatly afraid because of the words of Samuel; and there was no longer any strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all that day, and all that night.

Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives from before your eyes, and will give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in broad daylight.

For you did it in secret, but I will do this thing in the sight of all Israel, and in broad daylight.

And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said to David, The Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die.

Only because you have given great occasion of provocation to the enemies of the Lord by this thing, your son also that is born to you shall surely die.

Another parable He set before them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing good seed in his field.

But while the men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away.

But when the stalk had sprouted and produced fruit, then the tares also appeared.

So the servants of the master of the house approached and said to him, 'Sir, was it not good seed you sowed in your field? From where then does it have tares?'

"He said to them, 'An enemy did this.' So the servants said to him, 'Do you wish then that we should go and gather them up?'

"But he said, 'No, lest gathering up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.

Leave both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares, and bind them into bundles to burn them, but gather together the wheat into my barn." ' "
