And Dawiḏ came to his house at Yerushalayim. And the sovereign took the ten women, his concubines whom he had left to look after the house, and put them in a protected house and supported them, but did not go in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.


And Dawiḏ built a slaughter-place to יהוה there, and offered ascending offerings and peace offerings. And יהוה answered the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Yisra’ĕl.


Now Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent messengers to Dawiḏ, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built a house for Dawiḏ.


And Dawiḏ returned to bless his household, and Miḵal the daughter of Sha’ul came out to meet Dawiḏ, and said, “How esteemed was the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the female servants of his servants, as one of the foolish ones shamelessly uncovers himself!”


that the sovereign said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I am dwelling in a house of cedar, but the ark of Elohim dwells within curtains.”


And Shelomoh slaughtered slaughterings of peace offerings, which he slaughtered to יהוה, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. Thus the sovereign and all the children of Yisra’ĕl dedicated the House of יהוה.


But he did not number Lĕwi and Binyamin among them, for the sovereign’s word was loathsome to Yo’aḇ.


Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him,” Lest my adversaries rejoice when I am moved.


Do not grant the desires of the wrong, O יהוה; Do not promote his scheme. Selah.”


I exalt You, my Elohim, O Sovereign; And bless Your Name forever and ever.


Bĕt O my Elohim, in You I have put my trust; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies exult over me.


And now my head is lifted up above my enemies all around me; And I slaughter in His Tent with slaughters of sounding; I sing, yes, I sing praises to יהוה.


Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; And be their Shepherd, and bear them up forever.


Let not my lying enemies rejoice over me; Or those who hate me without cause wink their eyes.


By this I know that You did delight in me, Because my enemy does not shout for joy over me.


I called to Him with my mouth, And praise was in my tongue.


Why should the nations say, “Where is their Elohim?” Let the vengeance of the outpoured blood of Your servants Be known among the nations, Before our eyes.


We have become a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a mockery to those who are around us.


All who pass by have clapped their hands at you. They have whistled, And they shake their heads At the daughter of Yerushalayim, “Is this the city that is called ‘The perfection of loveliness, The joy of all the earth’?”


Now I, Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar, am praising and exalting and esteeming the Sovereign of the heavens, for all His works are truth, and His ways right. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.


“And the officers shall speak to the people, saying, ‘Who is the man who has built a new house and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man dedicate it.
