And also, Menashsheh shed very much innocent blood, until he had filled Yerushalayim from one end to another, besides his sin with which he made Yehuḏah sin, in doing evil in the eyes of יהוה.


The murderer rises at daylight, he kills the poor and needy, and in the night he is as a thief.


They have now surrounded us in our steps, They set their eyes to cast us to the ground,


They kill the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.


Do not lie in wait, O wrong one, Against the dwelling of the righteous; Do not ravage his resting place;


“But your eyes and your heart are only upon your own greedy gain, and on shedding innocent blood, and on oppression and on doing violence.”


You shall pierce with his own arrows The head of his leaders. They stormed along to scatter me, Rejoicing as if to devour the poor in secret.


And after this the Master appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of Him into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.

And the sovereign said to Do’ĕḡ, “You turn and come against the priests!” So Do’ĕḡ the Eḏomite turned and came against the priests, and put to death on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen shoulder garment.


“So look, and learn all about the hiding places where he hides. And you shall come back to me with certainty, then I shall go with you. And it shall be, if he is in the land, that I shall search for him throughout all the clans of Yehuḏah.”
