And the entire assembly of those who had come back from the captivity made booths and sat under the booths, for since the days of Yĕshua son of Nun until that day the children of Yisra’ĕl had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

And there came to be great joy in Yerushalayim, for since the days of Shelomoh son of Dawiḏ, the sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, the like of this had not been in Yerushalayim.


There had not been a Pĕsaḥ performed in Yisra’ĕl like it since the days of Shemu’ĕl the prophet. even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the command of Mosheh, for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the appointed times three times a year: the Festival of Matzot, and the Festival of Shaḇu’ot, and the Festival of Sukkot.


And they performed the Festival of Sukkot, as it is written, and the daily ascending offerings by number, according to the right-ruling for each day,

“For seven days you shall celebrate to יהוה your Elohim in the place which יהוה chooses, because יהוה your Elohim does bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be only rejoicing!


In belief all these died, not having received the promises, but seeing them from a distance, welcomed and embraced them, and confessed that they were aliens and strangers on the earth.


By belief, he sojourned in the land of promise as a stranger, dwelling in tents with Yitsḥaq and Ya‛aqoḇ, the heirs with him of the same promise,


For if Yehoshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.


And it came to be, after the death of Mosheh the servant of יהוה, that יהוה spoke to Yehoshua son of Nun, the assistant of Mosheh, saying,
