Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: Into that very destruction let him fall.

Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: For wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.


How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.


Evil pursueth sinners: But to the righteous good shall be repaid.


Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.


Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.


therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in an high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.


Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.


I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.


They have heard that I sigh: There is none to comfort me: All mine enemies have heard of my trouble; They are glad that thou hast done it: Thou wilt bring the day that thou hast called, And they shall be like unto me.


Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.


And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.


I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.


They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.


For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.


Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
