And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.


A soft answer turneth away wrath: But grievous words stir up anger.


A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: And a word spoken in due season, how good is it!


But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.


Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.


Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.


And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.


Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.


For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.


and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.


And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.


Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.


Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:


And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.


And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.


and when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.


And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.


Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.


And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.


Then said the high priest, Are these things so?


So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.


But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
