The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the Lord.


“Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding.


Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.


Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.


What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar.


All a poor man’s brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them.


Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.


Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.


Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.


Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!


I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them.


And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, I am bringing disaster upon all flesh, declares the Lord. But I will give you your life as a prize of war in all places to which you may go.”


the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.


For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.


But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,


And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.


Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.


That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.


Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.


For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.


May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,


By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?


I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.


Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.


We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.


I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers,


If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.


Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.


Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,


Only let us hold true to what we have attained.


I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord.


Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”


Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.


not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.


I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority.
