she called to the men of her household and said to them, “See, he has brought among us a Hebrew to laugh at us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.


Then she laid up his garment by her until his master came home,


But as soon as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment beside me and fled out of the house.”


When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is it you, you troubler of Israel?”


The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose way is upright;


because of the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they drop trouble upon me, and in anger they bear a grudge against me.


“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.


Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.


A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.


Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy.
