Then he sent his brothers away, and as they departed, he said to them, “Do not quarrel on the way.”


And Abner said to David, “I will arise and go and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your heart desires.” So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.


And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house. And Genubath was in Pharaoh’s house among the sons of Pharaoh.


But Pharaoh said to him, “What have you lacked with me that you are now seeking to go to your own country?” And he said to him, “Only let me depart.”


Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David.


Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and struck him down and put him to death. And he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.


And the Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all the men who were seeking your life are dead.”


saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”


And she said, “According to your words, so be it.” Then she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.


Then at the break of dawn Samuel called to Saul on the roof, “Up, that I may send you on your way.” So Saul arose, and both he and Samuel went out into the street.
