And he made a vow, saying: If God shall be with me, and shall keep me in the way by which I walk, and shall give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

Acceptable is the man that showeth mercy and lendeth: he shall order his words with judgment:


Sing ye to the Lord with praise: sing to our God upon the harp.


Who hath placed peace in thy borders: and filleth thee with the fat of corn.


Go, gather together the ancients of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared to me, saying: Visiting I have visited you, and I have seen all that hath befallen you in Egypt.


And the people believed. And they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel: and that he had looked upon their affliction. And falling down they adored.


Remove far from me vanity, and lying words. Give me neither beggary, nor riches: give me only the necessaries of life:


And as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return no more thither, but soak the earth and water it, and make it to spring and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater:


For thus saith the Lord: When the seventy years shall begin to be accomplished in Babylon, I will visit you: and I will perform my good word in your favour, to bring you again to this place.


And the Lord answered and said to his people: Behold I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and you shall be filled with them: and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.


And it shall be the portion of him that shall remain of the house of Juda, there they shall feed: in the houses of Ascalon they shall rest in the evening: because the Lord their God will visit them, and bring back their captivity.


Give us this day our supersubstantial bread.


Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; because he hath visited and wrought the redemption of his people:


And beat thee flat to the ground, and thy children who are in thee: and they shall not leave in thee a stone upon a stone: because thou hast not known the time of thy visitation.


But having food, and wherewith to be covered, with these we are content.


Having your conversation good among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by the good works, which they shall behold in you, glorify God in the day of visitation.


And they both died, to wit, Mahalon and Chelion: and the woman was left alone, having lost both her sons and her husband.


Wherefore she went forth out of the place of her sojournment, with both her daughters-in-law: and being now in the way to return into the land of Juda,


And the Lord visited Anna, and she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel became great before the Lord.
