For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.


That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.


For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature.


Because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before him. For by the law is the knowledge of sin.


For the law worketh wrath. For where there is no law, neither is there transgression.


Now the law entered in, that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound.


Neither yield ye your members as instruments of iniquity unto sin; but present yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of justice unto God.


I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity; so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification.


What fruit therefore had you then in those things, of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death.


For the wages of sin is death. But the grace of God, life everlasting, in Christ Jesus our Lord.


But I see another law in my members, fighting against the law of my mind, and captivating me in the law of sin, that is in my members.


Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law.


For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.


For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them.


And they that are Christ's, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences.


For which cause be mindful that you, being heretofore Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that which is called circumcision in the flesh, made by hands;


In which also we all conversed in time past, in the desires of our flesh, fulfilling the will of the flesh and of our thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:


Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is the service of idols.


For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.


Then when concupiscence hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. But sin, when it is completed, begetteth death.


From whence are wars and contentions among you? Are they not hence, from your concupiscences, which war in your members?


Whosoever committeth sin committeth also iniquity; and sin is iniquity.
