Blessed is the man whose trust is in the name of the Lord; and who hath not had regard to vanities, and lying follies.


And now the morning watch was come, and, behold, the Lord, looking upon the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, slew their host.


And in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking upon the sea.


But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open.


And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.


But of this one thing be not ignorant, my beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.


And Gedeon, and the three hundred men that were with him, went into part of the camp, at the beginning of the midnight watch: and the watchmen being alarmed, they began to sound their trumpets, and to clap the pitchers one against another.
