That the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremias might be fulfilled, and the land might keep her sabbaths. For all the days of the desolation she kept a sabbath, till the seventy years were expired.


So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.


Be not very angry, O Lord, and remember no longer our iniquity: behold, see we are all thy people.


The Syrians from the east, and the Philistines from the west: and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his indignation is not turned away: but his hand is stretched out still.


All that found them have devoured them: and their enemies said: We have not sinned in so doing: because they have sinned against the Lord, the beauty of justice, and against the Lord the hope of their fathers.


And I am angry with a great anger with the wealthy nations: for I was angry a little, but they helped forward the evil.
