The expectation of the just is joy; but the hope of the wicked shall perish.


Because thou shalt have hope in the latter end, and thy expectation shall not be taken away.


Israel is saved in the Lord with as eternal salvation: you shall not be confounded, and you shall not be ashamed for ever and ever.


The Lord God is my helper: therefore am I not confounded. Therefore have I set my face as a most hard rock: and I know that I shall not be confounded.


Fear not, for thou shalt not be confounded nor blush. For thou shalt not be put to shame, because thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth and shalt remember no more the reproach of thy widowhood.


And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.


But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.


Then Paul answered, and said: What do you mean weeping and afflicting my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but to die also in Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.


And when they had prayed, the place was moved wherein they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with confidence.


I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercy of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God, your reasonable service.


And hope confoundeth not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost, who is given to us.


Neither yield ye your members as instruments of iniquity unto sin; but present yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of justice unto God.


I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity; so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification.


For the expectation of the creature waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God.


As it is written: Behold I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and a rock of scandal; and whosoever believeth in him shall not be confounded.


I die daily, I protest by your glory, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.


For you are bought with a great price. Glorify and bear God in your body.


And the unmarried woman and the virgin thinketh on the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she that is married thinketh on the things of the world, how she may please her husband.


For if also I should boast somewhat more of our power, which the Lord hath given us unto edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed.


Having therefore such hope, we use much confidence:


Always bearing about in our body the mortification of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our bodies.


And Christ died for all; that they also who live, may not now live to themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again.


And if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I have not been put to shame; but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so also our boasting that was made to Titus is found a truth.


Great is my confidence for you, great is my glorying for you. I am filled with comfort: I exceedingly abound with joy in all our tribulation.


And many of the brethren in the Lord, growing confident by my bands, are much more bold to speak the word of God without fear.


Yea, and if I be made a victim upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and congratulate with you all.


Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:


And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things; that your whole spirit, and soul, and body, may be preserved blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.


But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.


And now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be confounded by him at his coming.
