And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die. All the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die.


And they said: What need we any further testimony? for we ourselves have heard it from his own mouth.


The Jews answered him: We have a law; and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.


Whereupon therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he did not only break the sabbath, but also said God was his Father, making himself equal to God.


When a man hath committed a crime for which he is to be punished with death, and being condemned to die is hanged on a gibbet:
