Remove thy scourges from me. The strength of thy hand hath made me faint in rebukes:


For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy good pleasure shall our horn be exalted.


I have trodden the winepress alone: and of the Gentiles there is not a man with me. I have trampled on them in my indignation and have trodden them down in my wrath. And their blood is sprinkled upon my garments: and I have stained all my apparel.


And Jesus saith to them: You will all be scandalized in my regard this night; for it is written, I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep shall be dispersed.


I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not lay hands on me. But that the scriptures may be fulfilled.


And a certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and they laid hold on him.


Behold, the hour cometh, and it is now come, that you shall be scattered every man to his own, and shall leave me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.


Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way.


At my first answer no man stood with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.
