He that walketh uprightly, shall be saved: he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.


And they come to thee, as if a people were coming in, and my people sit before thee: and hear thy words, and do them not: for they turn them into a song of their mouth, and their heart goeth after their covetousness.


I will not visit upon your daughters when they shell commit fornication, and upon your spouses when they shall commit adultery: because themselves conversed with harlots, and offered sacrifice with the effeminate, and the people that doth not understand shall be beaten.


All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not; for they say, and do not.


And then shall many be scandalized: and shall betray one another: and shall hate one another.


And they have no root in themselves, but are only for a time: and then when tribulation and persecution ariseth for the word they are presently scandalized.


And that servant who knew the will of his lord, and prepared not himself, and did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.


But his citizens hated him: and they sent an embassage after him, saying: We will not have this man to reign over us.


But as for those my enemies, who would not have me reign over them, bring them hither, and kill them before me.


And why call you me, Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say?


He is like to a man building a house, who digged deep, and laid the foundation upon a rock. And when a flood came, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and it could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock.


AND when he had finished all his words in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capharnaum.


Every branch in me, that beareth not fruit, he will take away: and every one that beareth fruit, he will purge it, that it may bring forth more fruit.


I know that, after my departure, ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.


And oftentimes punishing them, in every synagogue, I compelled them to blaspheme: and being yet more mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.


For this cause also, I, forbearing no longer, sent to know your faith: lest perhaps he that tempteth should have tempted you, and our labour should be made vain.


For if, flying from the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they be again entangled in them and overcome: their latter state is become unto them worse than the former.


They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us; but that they may be manifest, that they are not all of us.
