Go, and pray to the Lord for me, and for the remnant of Israel, and Juda, concerning all the words of this book, which is found. For the great wrath of the Lord hath fallen upon us, because our fathers have not kept the words of the Lord, to do all things that are written in this book.


Because they have forsaken me, and have sacrificed to strange gods, to provoke me to wrath with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath shall fall upon this place and shall not be quenched.


His wrath is kindled against me: and he hath counted me as his enemy.


For the arrows of the Lord are in me, the rage whereof drinketh up my spirit: and the terrors of the Lord war against me.


But I, as a deaf man, heard not: and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.


Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword: he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.


And he hath poured out upon him the indignation of his fury, and a strong battle: and hath burnt him round about, and he knew not: and set him on fire, and he understood not.


But they provoked to wrath and afflicted the spirit of his Holy One: and he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.


And I have trodden down the people in my wrath and have made them drunk in my indignation: and have brought down their strength to the earth.


My tabernacle is laid waste, all my cords are broken: my children are gone out from me and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.


O house of David, this saith the Lord: Judge ye judgement in the morning, and deliver him that is oppressed by violence out of the hand of the oppressor: lest my indignation go forth like a fire and be kindled, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your ways.


And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand, and with a strong arm, and in fury, and in indignation, and in great wrath.


All thy lovers have forgotten thee and will not seek after thee: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with a cruel chastisement: by reason of the multitude of thy iniquities, thy sins are hardened.


If so be they may present their supplication before the Lord, and may return every one from his wicked way: for great is the wrath and indignation which the Lord hath pronounced against this people.


Be circumcised to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your hearts, ye men of Juda and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my indignation come forth like fire and burn, and there be none that can quench it: because of the wickedness of your thoughts.


For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: As my anger and my indignation hath been kindled against the inhabitants of Jerusalem: so shall my indignation be kindled against you, when you shall enter into Egypt. And you shall be an execration and an astonishment and a curse and a reproach: and you shall see this place no more.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, my wrath and my indignation was enkindled against this place, upon men and upon beasts, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruits of the land: and it shall burn and shall not be quenched.


Mem. From above he hath sent fire into my bones and hath chastised me: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate, wasted with sorrow all the day long.


He. The Lord is become as an enemy: he hath cast down Israel headlong, he hath overthrown all the walls thereof: he hath destroyed his strongholds, and hath multiplied in the daughter of Juda the afflicted, both men and women.


Aleph. Only against me he hath turned and turned again his hand all the day.


Aleph. How is the gold become dim, the finest colour is changed: the stones of the sanctuary are scattered in the top of every street!


Caph. The Lord hath accomplished his wrath, he hath poured out his fierce anger and he hath kindled a fire in Sion: and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Lo, I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in my indignation: and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in my wrath to consume.


And I will bring you out from the people, and I will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered. I will reign over you with a strong hand and with a stretched-out arm, and with fury poured out.


As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be in the midst thereof: and you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have poured out my indignation upon you.


And thou, O son of man, behold, in the day wherein I will take away from them their strength and the joy of their glory and the desire of their eyes upon which their souls rest, their sons and their daughters.


And I poured out my indignation upon them for the blood which they had shed upon the land, and with their idols they defiled it.


And I will accomplish my fury and will cause my indignation to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the Lord have spoken it in my zeal, when I shall have accomplished my indignation in them.


He that is far off shall die of the pestilence: and he that is near shall fall by the sword: and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: and I will accomplish my indignation upon them.


Blow the trumpet, let all be made ready. Yet there is none to go to the battle: for my wrath shall be upon all the people thereof.


I will set my face against you, and you shall fall down before your enemies: and shall be made subject to them that hate you. You shall flee when no man pursueth you.


The Lord is a jealous God, and a revenger: the Lord is a revenger, and hath wrath: the Lord taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he is angry with his enemies.


Who can stand before the face of his indignation? and who shall resist in the fierceness of his anger? his indignation is poured out like fire: and the rocks are melted by him.


A fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burn even to the lowest hell: and shall devour the earth with her increase, and shall burn the foundations of the mountains.


And Samuel said: Why askest thou me, seeing the Lord has departed from thee, and is gone over to thy rival?
