And all the vessels of the house of the Lord, great and small, and the treasures of the temple and of the king and of the princes he carried away to Babylon.


And on that day they read in the book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And therein was found written, that the Ammonites and the Moabites should not come in to the church of God for ever.


They have possessed thy holy people as nothing: our enemies have trodden down thy sanctuary.


Thy riches and thy treasures I will give unto spoil for nothing, because of all thy sins, even in all thy borders.


And I will give all the substance of this city, and all its labour, and every precious thing thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Juda will I give into the hands of their enemies: and they shall pillage them and take them away and carry them to Babylon.


For thus saith the Lord of hosts to the pillars and to the sea and to the bases and to the rest of the vessels that remain in this city,


For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Juda and Jerusalem:


The voice of them that flee and of them that have escaped out of the land of Babylon: to declare in Sion the revenge of the Lord our God, the revenge of his temple.


We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces, because strangers are come upon the sanctuaries of the house of the Lord.


And he burnt the house of the Lord and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem: and every great house he burnt with fire.


Zain. Jerusalem hath remembered the days of her affliction and prevarication of all her desirable things which she had from the days of old, when her people fell in the enemy's hand and there was no helper: the enemies have seen her and have mocked at her sabbaths.


In that you have brought in strangers uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, and to defile my house: and you offer my bread, the fat, and the blood: and you have broken my covenant by all your wicked doings.


And I will turn away my face from them, and they shall violate my secret place: and robbers shall enter into it and defile it.


And he said to them: Defile the house and fill the courts with the slain. Go ye forth. And they went forth and slew them that were in the city.


And when you shall see the abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not: he that readeth let him understand: then let them that are in Judea, flee unto the mountains:


The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation, shall not enter into the church of the Lord for ever:


Because they would not meet you with bread and water in the way, when you came out of Egypt: and because they hired against thee Balaam, the son of Beor, from Mesopotamia in Syria, to curse thee.
