For the enemy hath persecuted my soul: he hath brought down my life to the earth. He hath made me to dwell in darkness as those that have been dead of old:


THEY have sought me that before asked not for me, they have found me that sought me not. I said: Behold me, Behold me, to a nation that did not call upon my name.


I have seen thy adulteries and thy neighing, the wickedness of thy fornication and thy abominations upon the hills in the field. Woe to thee, Jerusalem! Wilt thou not be made clean after me. How long yet?


Saying: What wilt thou that I do to thee? But he said: Lord, that I may see.


He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.


And there was a certain man there, that had been eight and thirty years under his infirmity.


The infirm man answered him: Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pond. For whilst I am coming, another goeth down before me.


Neither is there any creature invisible in his sight: but all things are naked and open to his eyes, to whom our speech is.


For we have not a high priest, who can not have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin.
