For as Jonas was in the whale's belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.


From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the ancients and scribes and chief priests, and be put to death, and the third day rise again.


And saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God, and in three days dost rebuild it: save thy own self: if thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.


Saying: Sir, we have remembered, that that seducer said, while he was yet alive: After three days I will rise again.


We heard him say, I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another not made with hands.


And they that passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God, and in three days buildest it up again;


And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the ancients and by the high priests, and the scribes, and be killed: and after three days rise again.


Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live:


Then Jesus answered, and said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you, the Son cannot do any thing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doth, these the Son also doth in like manner.


Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that he should be holden by it.


This Jesus hath God raised again, whereof all we are witnesses.


But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.


To you first God, raising up his Son, hath sent him to bless you; that every one may convert himself from his wickedness.


For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the traditions which Moses delivered unto us.


But also for us, to whom it shall be reputed, if we believe in him, that raised up Jesus Christ, our Lord, from the dead,


For we are buried together with him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life.


And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead, shall quicken also your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you.


Now if Christ be preached, that he arose again from the dead, how do some among you say, that there is no resurrection of the dead?


Buried with him in baptism, in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him up from the dead.


Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit,
