And after this, saith the Lord, I will give Sedecias the king of Juda, and his servants, and his people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence and the sword and the famine, into the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword, and he shall not be moved to pity nor spare them nor shew mercy on them.


They shall be carried to Babylon, and there they shall be until the day of their visitation, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to be brought and to be restored in this place.


Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hands of the king of Babylon, and they shall take it.


For Sedecias king of Juda had shut him up, saying: Why dost thou prophesy, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it?


And Sedecias king of Juda shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans: but he shall be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon. And he shall speak to him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall see his eyes.


And Sedecias the king of Juda and his princes I will give into the hands of their enemies and into the hands of them that seek their lives and into the hands of the armies of the king of Babylon which are gone from you.


Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Sedecias king of Juda: Thus saith the Lord to thee: Thou shalt not die by the sword.


And Jeremias said to king Sedecias: In what way have I offended against thee or thy servants or thy people, that thou hast cast me into prison?


But if thou wilt not go out to the princes of the king of Babylon, this city shall be delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans. And they shall burn it with fire: and thou shalt not escape out of their hands.


And all thy wives and thy children shall be brought out to the Chaldeans. And thou shalt not escape their hands, but thou shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and he shall burn this city with fire.


And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my net: and I will bring him into Babylon, into the land of the Chaldeans. And he shall not see it: and there he shall die.


But he hath revolted from him and sent ambassadors to Egypt, that it might give him horses and much people. And shall he that hath done thus prosper or be saved? And shall he escape that hath broken the covenant?


As I live, saith the Lord God: In the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he hath made void, and whose covenant he broke, even in the midst of Babylon, shall he die.


But thou profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, that hath been appointed in the time of iniquity:
