You rush in upon the fatherless: and you endeavour to overthrow your friend.


They that go down to the sea in ships, doing business in the great waters:


Let not the foot of pride come to me, and let not the hand of the sinner move me.


Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord:


Which will not hear the voice of the charmers; nor of the wizard that charmeth wisely.


Behold, he hath been in labour with injustice: he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity.


He that rendereth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.


He that diggeth a pit, shall fall into it: and he that rolleth a stone, it shall return to him.


He that diggeth a pit, shall fall into it: and he that breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him.


Therefore, do not thou pray for this people, and do not take up praise and prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time of their cry to me, in the time of their affliction.


We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, the iniquities of our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.


And the Lord said to me: If Moses and Samuel shall stand before me, my soul is not towards this people. Cast them out from my sight and let them go forth.


Let them be confounded that persecute me, and let not me be confounded: let them be afraid and let not me be afraid, bring upon them the day of affliction and with a double destruction destroy them.


Give heed to me, O Lord, and hear the voice of my adversaries.


Let a cry be heard out of their houses: for thou shalt bring the robber upon them suddenly, because they have digged a pit to take me and have hid snares for my feet.


But if they be prophets and the word of the Lord be in them: let them interpose themselves before the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which were left in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Juda and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.


For among my people are found wicked men that lie in wait as fowlers, setting snares and traps to catch men.


Therefore, do not thou pray for this people, nor take to thee praise and supplication for them: and do not withstand me: for I will not hear thee.


Res. Thou hast seen, O Lord, their iniquity against me: judge thou my judgment.


Jesus answered them: Many good works I have shewed you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?


But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause.


And Jonathan spoke good things of David to Saul his father; and said to him: Sin not, O king, against thy servant, David, because he hath not sinned against thee; and his works are very good towards thee.
