Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips.


O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.


A mild answer breaketh wrath: but a harsh word stirreth up fury.


The wicked man diggeth evil, and in his lips is a burning fire.


A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren.


That she may keep thee from the woman that is not thine, and from the stranger who sweeteneth her words.


Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from afar. His wrath burneth and is heavy to bear: his lips are filled with indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire.


Behold, all you that kindle a fire, encompassed with flames, walk in the light of your fire and in the flames which you have kindled. This is done to you by my hand: you shall sleep in sorrows.


For I heard the reproaches of many, and terror on every side: Persecute him, and, let us persecute him: from all the men that were my familiars and continued at my side: if by any means he may be deceived and we may prevail against him and be revenged on him.


Therefore, thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year shalt thou die. For thou hast spoken against the Lord.


And when he had blasphemed the name, and had cursed it, he was brought to Moses. (Now his mother was called Salumith, the daughter of Dabri, of the tribe of Dan:)


Who called them to their sacrifices: And they ate of them, and adored their gods.


Are not these they, that deceived the children of Israel, by the counsel of Balaam, and made you transgress against the Lord by the sin of Phogor, for which also the people was punished?


But the Pharisees hearing it, said: This man casteth not out the devils but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.


But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou Fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.


There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.


And he cried, and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, to cool my tongue: for I am tormented in this flame.


And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.


But Peter said: Ananias, why hath Satan tempted thy heart, that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Ghost, and by fraud keep part of the price of the land?


And they set up false witnesses, who said: This man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place and the law.


If thy brother the son of thy mother, or thy son, or daughter, or thy wife that is in thy bosom, or thy friend, whom thou lovest as thy own soul, would persuade thee secretly, saying: Let us go, and serve strange gods, which thou knowest not, nor thy fathers,


Who must be reproved, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.


Do not they blaspheme the good name that is invoked upon you?


For every nature of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of the rest, is tamed, and hath been tamed, by the nature of man:


Knowing this first, that in the last days there shall come deceitful scoffers, walking after their own lusts,


For this cause, if I come, I will advertise his works which he doth, with malicious words prating against us. And as if these things were not enough for him, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and them that do receive them he forbiddeth, and casteth out of the church.


And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.


And he seduced them that dwell on the earth, for the signs, which were given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make the image of the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and lived.


And the light of the lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, for all nations have been deceived by thy enchantments.


And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet, who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast, and who adored his image. These two were cast alive into the pool of fire, burning with brimstone.
