And Jehu said to Badacer his captain: Take him, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezrahelite. For I remember when I and thou sitting in a chariot followed Achab this man's father, that the Lord laid this burden upon him, saying:


THE vision of Isaias the son of Amos I which he saw concerning Juda and Jerusalem in the days of Ozias, Joathan, Achaz, and Ezechias, kings of Juda


And that Babylon, glorious among kingdoms, the famous pride of the Chaldeans, shall be even as the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha.


In the year that king Achaz died, was this burden:


THE burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, it is silent: because the wall of Moab is destroyed in the night, it is silent.


THE burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus shall cease to be a city, and shall be as a ruinous heap of stones.


THE burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud and will enter into Egypt. And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.


At that same time, the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaias the son of Amos, saying: Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and take off thy shoes from thy feet. And he did so, and went naked and barefoot.


The burden in Arabia. In the forest at evening you shall sleep, in the paths of Dedanim.


THE burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee also, that thou too art wholly gone up to the housetops?


In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall the peg be removed, that was fastened in the sure place. And it shall be broken and shall fall: and that which hung thereon, shall perish, because the Lord hath spoken it.


Thus saith the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I sent to Babylon; and have brought down all their bars and the Chaldeans glorying in their ships.


The Lord showed me: and, behold, two baskets full of figs, set before the temple of the Lord: after that Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried away Jechonias the son of Joakim the king of Juda, and his chief men, and the craftsmen and engravers of Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon.


The prophets that have been before me and before thee from the beginning and have prophesied concerning many countries and concerning great kingdoms, of war and of affliction and of famine.


The word that the Lord hath spoken against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans, in the hand of Jeremias the prophet.


We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces, because strangers are come upon the sanctuaries of the house of the Lord.


Say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: This burden concerneth my prince that is in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel that are among them.

The burden that Habacuc the prophet saw.


The burden of the word of the Lord upon Israel. Thus saith the Lord, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundations of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man in him:


The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach, and of Damascus the rest thereof: for the eye of man, and of all the tribes of Israel is the Lord's.
