And he said of Sara his wife: She is my sister. So Abimelech the king of Gerara sent, and took her.


And he bought that part of the field, in which he pitched his tents, of the children of Hemor, the father of Sichem for a hundred lambs.


And when they were gone out, the other sons of Jacob came upon the slain; and plundered the city in revenge of the rape.


And his soul was fast knit unto her: and, whereas she was sad, he comforted her with sweet words.


And when they had boldly perpetrated these things, Jacob said to Simeon and Levi: You have troubled me, and made me hateful to the Chanaanites and Pherezites, the inhabitants of this land. We are few: they will gather themselves together and kill me; and both I, and my house, shall be destroyed.


The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took themselves wives of all which they chose.


In the mean time it happened that David arose from his bed after noon, and walked upon the roof of the king's house. And he saw from the roof of his house a woman washing herself, over against him: and the woman was very beautiful.


And David sent messengers, and took her, and she came in to him, and he slept with her: and presently she was purified from her uncleanness.


But he would not hearken to her prayers; but being stronger overpowered her and lay with her.


I made a covenant with my eyes, that I would not so much as think upon a virgin.


If my heart hath been deceived upon a woman, and if I have laid wait at my friend's door:


He that walketh with the wise, shall be wise: a friend of fools shall become like to them.


But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.


But if afterwards she please thee not, thou shalt let her go free: but thou mayst not sell her for money nor oppress her by might; because thou hast humbled her.


Thou shalt bring them both out to the gate of that city, and they shall be stoned: the damsel, because she cried not out, being in the city: the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife. And thou shalt take away the evil from the midst of thee.


He that lay with her shall give to the father of the maid fifty sicles of silver, and shall have her to wife, because he hath humbled her. He may not put her away all the days of his life.


Perhaps you dwell in the land which falls to our lot: if so, we can make no league with you.


Then Samson went down to Thamnatha, and seeing there a woman of the daughters of the Philistines,


And Gaal the son of Obed cried: Who is Abimelech, and what is Sichem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerobaal, and hath made Zebul his servant ruler over the men of Emor the father of Sichem? Why then shall we serve him?
