She took Agar the Egyptian, her handmaid, ten years after they first dwelt in the land of Chanaan: and gave her to her husband to wife.

And Roboam loved Maacha the daughter of Absalom, above all his wives and concubines. For he had married eighteen wives, and threescore concubines. And he begot eight and twenty sons, and threescore daughters.


There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job: and that man was simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil.

That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.


And speaking these things, they scarce restrained the people from sacrificing to them.


And embraced the man. And the son-in-law tarried in the house of his father-in-law three days, eating with him and drinking familiarly.


And when Israel had sown, Madian and Amalec and the rest of the eastern nations came up.
