And when she was going to fetch it he called after her, saying: Bring me also, I beseech thee, a morsel of bread in thy hand.


Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.


FOR, behold, the sovereign the Lord of hosts, shall take away from Jerusalem and from Juda the valiant and the strong, the whole strength of bread, and the whole strength of water.


Give us this day our supersubstantial bread.


And Manue said to the angel of the Lord: I beseech thee to consent to my request, and let us dress a kid for thee.


And the angel answered him: If thou press me, I will not eat of thy bread; but if thou wilt offer a holocaust, offer it to the Lord. And Manue knew not it was the angel of the Lord.


But on the fourth day arising early in the morning he desired to depart. But his father-in-law kept him, and said to him: Taste first a little bread, and strengthen thy stomach, and so thou shalt depart.


And depart not hence, till I return to thee, and bring a sacrifice, and offer it to thee. And he answered: I will wait thy coming.


So Gedeon went in, and boiled a kid, and made unleavened loaves of a measure of flour: and putting the flesh in a basket, and the broth of the flesh into a pot, he carried all under the oak, and presented to him.
