And Abram said: Lord God, what wilt thou give me? I shall go without children: and the son of the steward of my house is this Damascus Eliezer.


And immediately the word of the Lord came to him, saying: He shall not be thy heir: but he that shall come out of thy bowels, him shalt thou have for thy heir.


And God heard the voice of the boy. And an angel of God called to Agar from heaven, saying: What art thou doing, Agar? Fear not: for God hath heard the voice of the boy, from the place wherein he is.


After these things, God tempted Abraham, and said to him: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am.


After these things, it was told Abraham that Melcha also had borne children to Nachor, his brother.


Where the Lord appeared to him that same night, saying: I am the God of Abraham thy father. Do not fear, for I am with thee: I will bless thee, and multiply thy seed, for my servant Abraham's sake.


Yea, your father also hath over-reached me, and hath changed my wages ten times: and yet God hath not suffered him to hurt me.


God is my strong one, in him will I trust: my shield, and the horn of my salvation. He lifteth me up, and is my refuge: my saviour, thou wilt deliver me from iniquity.


And the angel of the Lord spoke to Elias, saying: Go down with him. Fear not. He arose therefore, and went down with him to the king.


And David said to Solomon his son: Act like a man, and take courage, and do. Fear not, and be not dismayed: for the Lord my God will be with thee, and will not leave thee, nor forsake thee, till thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.


Alleluia. I have believed, therefore have I spoken; but I have been humbled exceedingly.


I remembered the days of old, I meditated on all thy works: I meditated upon the works of thy hands.


The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands.


A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.


Many say to my soul: There is no salvation for him in his God.


But thou, O Lord art my protector, my glory, and the lifter-up of my head.


But let all them be glad that hope in thee; they shall rejoice for ever, and thou shalt dwell in them. And all they that love thy name shall glory in thee.


my God, his mercy shall prevent me.


Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.


I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.


Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp.


And Moses said to the people: Fear not. Stand and see the great wonders of the Lord, which he will do this day: for the Egyptians, whom you see now, you shall see no more for ever.


The wicked maketh an unsteady work: but to him that soweth justice, there is a faithful reward.


Every word of God is fire tried: he is a buckler to them that hope in him.


Say to the fainthearted: Take courage, and fear not. Behold, your God will bring the revenge of recompense. God himself will come and will save you.


Behold, the Lord God shall come with strength: and his arm shall rule. Behold, his reward is with him and his work is before him.


Fear not, for I am with thee: turn not aside, for I am thy God. I have strengthened thee and have helped thee: and the right hand of my just one hath upheld thee.

And I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord: and thou shalt not be given into the hands of the men whom thou fearest.


Heth. The Lord is my portion, said my soul: therefore will I wait for him.


Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, when I was in the midst of the captives by the river Chobar, the heavens were opened, and I saw the visions of God.


And the spirit lifted me up and brought me into Chaldea, to them of the captivity, in vision, by the spirit of God: and the vision which I had seen was taken up from me.


And he said to me: Son of man, go to the house of Israel, and thou shalt speak my words to them.


He said to them: Hear my words: If there be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him in a dream.


And the Lord said to Aaron: You shall possess nothing in their land, neither shall you have a portion among them. I am thy portion and inheritance in the midst of the children of Israel.


The hearer of the words of God hath said. He that hath beheld the vision of the Almighty. He that falleth, and so his eyes are opened:


And the angel answering, said to the women: Fear not you; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.


And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.


But the angel said to him: Fear not, Zachary, for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John:


And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.


Fear not, little flock, for it hath pleased your Father to give you a kingdom.


Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.


For all things are yours, whether it be Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to some; for all are yours;


And they shall receive nothing else of the possession of their brethren: for the Lord himself is their inheritance, as he hath said to them.


Do manfully and be of good heart: fear not, nor be ye dismayed at their sight. For the Lord thy God he himself is thy leader, and will not leave thee nor forsake thee.


God, who, at sundry times and in divers manners, spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, last of all,


And when I had seen him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying: Fear not. I am the First and the Last,


The Lord render unto thee for thy work: and mayest thou receive a full reward of the Lord the God of Israel, to whom thou art come, and under whose wings thou art fled.


And the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying:


Now in time past, in Israel when a man went to consult God he spoke thus: Come, let us go to the seer. For he that is now called a prophet, in time past was called a seer.
