Behold, the whole land is before thee: depart from me I pray thee. If thou wilt go to the left hand, I will take the right: if thou choose the right hand, I will pass to the left.


Which when Abram had heard, to wit, that his brother Lot was taken, he numbered of the servants born in his house, three hundred and eighteen well appointed: and pursued them to Dan.


So he sent away his brethren, and at their departing said to them: Be not angry in the way.


You shall answer: We thy servants are shepherds, from our infancy until now, both we and our fathers. And this you shall say, that you may dwell in the land of Gessen, because the Egyptians have all shepherds in abomination.


A gradual canticle. Behold now bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord: Who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.


And going out the next day, he saw two Hebrews quarreling. And he said to him that did the wrong: Why strikest thou thy neighbour?


A mild answer breaketh wrath: but a harsh word stirreth up fury.


A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.


It is an honour for a man to separate himself from quarrels: but all fools are meddling with reproaches.


Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.


And the day following, he shewed himself to them when they were at strife; and would have reconciled them in peace, saying: Men, ye are brethren; why hurt you one another?


Loving one another with the charity of brotherhood, with honour preventing one another.


And do ye all things without murmurings and hesitations;


But as touching the charity of brotherhood, we have no need to write to you: for yourselves have learned of God to love one another.


Follow peace with all men, and holiness: without which no man shall see God.


Let the charity of the brotherhood abide in you.


Purifying your souls in the obedience of charity, with a brotherly love, from a sincere heart love one another earnestly:


Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.


And in fine, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, being lovers of the brotherhood, merciful, modest, humble:


But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins.


And in godliness, love of brotherhood; and in love of brotherhood, charity.


Dearly beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. And every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God.


And Gaal the son of Obed came with his brethren, and went over to Sichem. And the inhabitants of Sichem, taking courage at his coming,
