Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God.


And behold, the whole kindred rising against thy handmaid saith: Deliver him that hath slain his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother, whom he slew, and that we may destroy the heir. And they seek to quench my spark which is left, and will leave my husband no name, nor remainder upon the earth.


And there was a famine in the days of David for three years successively: and David consulted the oracle of the Lord. And the Lord said: It is for Saul, and his bloody house, because he slew the Gabaonites.


And they buried them with the bones of Saul, and of Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in the side, in the sepulchre of Cis his father. And they did all that the king had commanded: and God shewed mercy again to the land after these things.


And the king said to him: Do as he hath said: and kill him, and bury him. And thou shalt remove the innocent blood which hath been shed by Joab, from me, and from the house of my father.


No eye had pity on thee to do any of these things for thee, out of compassion to thee: but thou wast cast out upon the face of the earth in the abjection of thy soul, in the day that thou wast born.


He that striketh and killeth a man: dying let him die.


He that striketh a beast shall render another. He that striketh a man shall be punished.


You shall not take money of him that is guilty of blood: but he shall die forthwith.


Consent not to him, hear him not: neither let thy eye spare him to pity and conceal him.


The ancients of his city shall send, and take him out of the place of refuge: and shall deliver him into the hand of the kinsman of him whose blood was shed. And he shall die.


Thou shalt not pity him: but shalt require life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.


And thou shalt be free from the innocent's blood, that was shed, when thou shalt have done what the Lord hath commanded thee.


Thou shalt cut off her hand, neither shalt thou be moved with any pity in her regard.


Thou shalt consume all the people, which the Lord thy God will deliver to thee. Thy eye shall not spare them: neither shalt thou serve their gods, lest they be thy ruin.


And the Lord thy God shall have delivered them to thee: thou shalt utterly destroy them. Thou shalt make no league with them, nor shew mercy to them.
