And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: Thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: AND IN THEE AND THY SEED ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.


Suppose thou didst desire to go to thy friends, and hadst a longing after thy father's house: why hast thou stolen away my gods?


And David longed, and said: O that some man would get me a drink of the water out of the cistern, that is in Bethlehem, by the gate!


And Jabes called upon the God of Israel, saying: If blessing thou wilt bless me, and wilt enlarge my borders, and thy hand be with me, and thou save me from being oppressed by evil. And God granted him the things he prayed for.


Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine and Ephraim the protection of my head. Juda is my king:


Unto the end, a psalm for David.


Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.


And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea to the sea of the Palestines: and from the desert to the river. I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hands: and will drive them out from before you.


For when I shall have taken away the nations from thy face, and shall have enlarged thy borders, no man shall lie in wait against thy land when thou shalt go up and appear in the sight of the Lord thy God, thrice in a year.


But even for a month of days, till it come out at your nostrils, and become loathsome to you. Because you have cast off the Lord, who is in the midst of you, and have wept before him, saying: Why came we out of Egypt?


And that place was called, The graves of lust: for there they buried the people that had lusted. And departing from the graves of lust, they came unto Haseroth, and abode there.


For a mixt multitude of people, that came up with them, burned with desire, sitting and weeping, (the children of Israel also being joined with them,) and said: Who shall give us flesh to eat?


And in their praying for you, being desirous of you, because of the excellent grace of God in you.


Every place, that your foot shall tread upon, shall be yours. From the desert, and from Libanus, from the great river Euphrates unto the western sea shall be your borders.


But if thou desirest to eat, and the eating of flesh delight thee, kill, and eat according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he hath given thee, in thy cities. Whether it be unclean (that is to say, having blemish or defect): or clean (that is to say, sound and without blemish), such as may be offered, as the roe and the hart, shalt thou eat it.


And if the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, that his name should be there, be far off: thou shalt kill of thy herds and of thy flocks, as I have commanded thee, and shalt eat in thy towns, as it pleaseth thee.


And when the Lord thy God shall have enlarged thy borders, as he swore to thy fathers, and shall give thee all the land that he promised them:


For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.


For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick.
