And there came a famine in the country. And Abram went down into Egypt, to sojourn there; for the famine was very grievous in the land.


Get ye up on horses and glory in chariots: and let the valiant men come forth, the Ethiopians and the Libyans that hold the shield and the Lydians that take and shoot arrows.


Upon Egypt, and upon Juda, and upon Edom, and upon the children of Ammon, and upon Moab, and upon all that have their hair polled round, that dwell in the desert: for all the nations are uncircumcised in the flesh, but all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.


Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the rest of the crowd, and Chub, and the children of the land of the covenant, shall fall with them by the sword.


As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel passed away. Beacause Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt.


Thus saith the Lord of hosts, until people come, and dwell in many cities,


Thus saith the Lord of hosts: In those days, wherein ten men of all languages of the Gentiles shall take hold, and shall hold fast the shirt of one that is a Jew, saying: We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.


That it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: Out of Egypt have I called my son.


Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves.


And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they forced to take up his cross.


And they forced one Simon a Cyrenian who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and of Rufus, to take up his cross.


But some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were entered into Antioch, spoke also to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.


NOW there were in the church which was at Antioch, prophets and doctors, among whom was Barnabas, and Simon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen, who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.


Now when Paul and they that were with him had sailed from Paphos, they came to Perge in Pamphylia. And John departing from them, returned to Jerusalem.


And when the synagogue was broken up, many of the Jews, and of the strangers who served God, followed Paul and Barnabas: who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.


And having spoken the word of the Lord in Perge, they went down into Attalia:


But Paul desired that he (as having departed from them out of Pamphylia, and not gone with them to the work) might not be received.


And when they had passed through Phrygia, and the country of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.


(Now all the Athenians, and strangers that were there, employed themselves in nothing else, but either in telling or in hearing some new thing.)


And finding a certain Jew, named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with Priscilla his wife, (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome,) he came to them.


And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went through the country of Galatia and Phrygia, in order, confirming all the disciples.


Jews also, and proselytes, Cretes, and Arabians: we have heard them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.


And the night following the Lord standing by him, said: Be constant; for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.


And sailing over the sea of Cilicia, and Pamphylia, we came to Lystra, which is in Lycia:


And from thence, when the brethren had heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii Forum, and the Three Taverns: whom when Paul saw, he gave thanks to God, and took courage.


And the saying was liked by all the multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch.


Now there arose some of that which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of them that were of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.


So (as much as is in me) I am ready to preach the gospel to you also that are at Rome.


To all that are at Rome, the beloved of God, called to be saints. Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.


But when he was come to Rome, he carefully sought me, and found me.


And their bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which is called spiritually, Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord also was crucified.
