And the king said: What have I to do with you, ye sons of Sarvia? Let him alone and let him curse: for the Lord hath bid him curse David. And who is he that shall dare say: why hath he done so?


And king David came as far as Bahurim: and behold, there came out from thence a man of the kindred of the house of Saul named Semei, the son of Gera. And coming out he cursed as he went on.


And Abisai the son of Sarvia said to the king: Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? I will go, and cut off his head.


But I as yet am tender, though anointed king: and these men the sons of Sarvia are too hard for me. The Lord reward him that doth evil according to his wickedness.


And a throne shall be prepared in mercy, and one shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and quickly rendering that which is just.


And behold they cried out, saying: What have we to do with thee, Jesus Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?


And Saul said: No man shall be killed this day, because the Lord this day hath wrought salvation in Israel.


The Lord be merciful unto me, that I extend not my hand upon the Lord's anointed. But now take the spear, which is at his head, and the cup of water, and let us go.


And Abisai said to David: God hath shut up thy enemy this day into thy hands. Now then I will run him through with my spear even to the earth at once; and there shall be no need of a second time.


And David said to Abisai: Kill him not. For who shall put forth his hand against the Lord's anointed, and shall be guiltless?
