And the Lord said to Solomon: Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life or riches, nor the lives of thy enemies, but hast asked for thyself wisdom to discern judgment,


My face is swollen with weeping; and my eyelids are dim.


You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.


I cried to the Lord with my voice: with my voice I made supplication to the Lord.


Let all them be confounded that act unjust things without cause. Shew, O Lord, thy ways to me, and teach me thy paths.


He hath exalted me upon a rock: and now he hath lifted up my head above my enemies. I have gone round, and have offered up in his tabernacle a sacrifice of jubilation: I will sing, and recite a psalm to the Lord.


Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court.


There the workers of iniquity are fallen, they are cast out, and could not stand.


For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,


The victims of the wicked are abominable to the Lord: the vows of the just are acceptable.


The sacrifices of the wicked are abominable, because they are offered of wickedness.


And when you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away my eyes from you: and when you multiply prayer, I will not hear: for your hands are full of blood.


And Jesus answering, said to them: Amen, I say to you, if you shall have faith, and stagger not, not only this of the fig tree shall you do, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Take up and cast thyself into the sea, it shall be done.


But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you:


And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.


And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. But they, dividing his garments, cast lots.


And he led them out as far as Bethania: and lifting up his hands, he blessed them.


Jesus saith to her: Woman, believe me, that the hour cometh, when you shall neither on this mountain, not in Jerusalem, adore the Father.


A religious man, and fearing God with all his house, giving much alms to the people, and always praying to God.


Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.


And he, beholding him, being seized with fear, said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thy alms are ascended for a memorial in the sight of God.


And the days being expired, departing we went forward, they all bringing us on our way, with their wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and we prayed.


To the church of God that is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place of theirs and ours.


For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one hath his proper gift from God; one after this manner, and another after that.


Now thanks be to God, who always maketh us to triumph in Christ Jesus, and manifesteth the odour of his knowledge by us in every place.


Now, brethren, I desire you should know, that the things which have happened to me, have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel:


For from you was spread abroad the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia, and in Achaia, but also in every place, your faith which is towards God, is gone forth, so that we need not to speak any thing.


I will therefore that the younger should marry, bear children, be mistresses of families, give no occasion to the adversary to speak evil.


It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they, who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.


Let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with clean water.


Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded.


Ye husbands, likewise dwelling with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the female as to the weaker vessel, and as to the co-heirs of the grace of life: that your prayers be not hindered.
