And David was afraid of the Lord that day, saying: How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?


Lest as the Lord at first struck us, because you were not present, the same should now also come to pass, by our doing some thing against the law.


And Pharao's servants said to him: How long shall we endure this scandal? Let the men go to sacrifice to the Lord their God. Dost thou not see that Egypt is undone?


And the Egyptians pressed the people to go forth out of the land speedily, saying: We shall all die.


And Pharao said: I will let you go to sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness. But go no farther: pray for me.


But Pharao called Moses and Aaron, and said to them: Pray ye to the Lord to take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.


Pray ye to the Lord, that the thunderings of God and the hail may cease: that I may let you go, and that you may stay here no longer.


The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, hath said: Behold, I will visit upon the tumult of Alexandria and upon Pharao and upon Egypt and upon her gods and upon her kings and upon Pharao upon them that trust in him.


For because thou hast trusted in thy bulwarks and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chamos shall go into captivity, his priests, and his princes together.


Woe to us: for there was no such great joy yesterday and the day before. Woe to us. Who shall deliver us from the hand of these high gods? These are the gods that struck Egypt with all the plagues in the desert.


And the hand of the Lord was heavy upon the Azotians, and he destroyed them, and afflicted Azotus and the coasts thereof with emerods. And in the villages and fields in the midst of that country, there came forth a multitude of mice; and there was the confusion of a great mortality in the city.


And sending, they gathered together all the lords of the Philistines to them, and said: What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And the Gethrites answered: Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about.


And the men of Bethsames said: Who shall be able to stand before the Lord this holy God? And to whom shall he go up from us?
