And the king said also to Abiathar the priest: Go to Anathoth to thy lands, for indeed thou art worthy of death. But I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou didst carry the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and hast endured trouble in all the troubles my father endured.


Cry to me and I will hear thee: and I will shew thee great things, and sure things which thou knowest not.


For the children of Israel shall sit many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without altar, and without ephod, and without theraphim.


If any thing be to be done, Eleazar the priest shall consult the Lord for him. He and all the children of Israel with him, and the rest of the multitude, shall go out and go in at his word.


They understanding it, fled to Lystra, and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the whole country round about, and were there preaching the gospel.


But their laying in wait was made known to Saul. And they watched the gates also day and night, that they might kill him.


And after this they consulted the Lord whether he would come thither. And the Lord answered: Behold, he is hidden at home.


And Saul said to Achias: Bring the ark of the Lord. (For the ark of God was there that day with the children of Israel.)


But one of the sons of Achimelech the son of Achitob, whose name was Abiathar, escaped, and fled to David,


And David said: O Lord God of Israel, thy servant hath heard a report, that Saul designeth to come to Ceila, to destroy the city for my sake.


Now at that time, when Abiathar the son of Achimelech fled to David to Ceila, he came down having an ephod with him.


And Saul commanded all the people to go down to fight against Ceila, and to besiege David, and his men.


And he said to Abiathar the priest the son of Achimelech: Bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
