Wherefore, if you do according to mercy and truth with my master, tell me: but if it please you otherwise, tell me that also, that I may go to the right hand, or to the left.

Let not mercy and truth leave thee, put them about thy neck, and write them in the tables of thy heart:


For if I have injured them, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die. But if there be none of these things whereof they accuse me, no man may deliver me to them: I appeal to Caesar.


They answered her: Be our lives for you unto death, only if thou betray us not. And when the Lord shall have delivered us the land, we will shew thee mercy and truth.


The Lord, the most mighty God, the Lord, the most mighty God, he knoweth, and Israel also shall understand: If with the design of transgression we have set up this altar, let him not save us, but punish us immediately.


She said to them: Go ye home to your mothers: The Lord deal mercifully with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me.


And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.


And David and Jonathan made a covenant: for he loved him as his own soul.


Jonathan therefore made a covenant with the house of David: and the Lord required it at the hands of David's enemies.


And Jonathan said: Far be this from thee: for, if I should certainly know that evil is determined by my father against thee, I could do no otherwise than tell thee.


And the two made a covenant before the Lord. And David abode in the wood: but Jonathan returned to his house.
