It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred.


Better is a dry morsel with joy, than a house full of victims with strife.


The sacrifices of the wicked are abominable, because they are offered of wickedness.


To do mercy and judgment, pleaseth the Lord more than victims.


They eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of iniquity.


And when you did eat and drink, did you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?


Then they led Jesus from Caiphas to the governor's hall. And it was morning; and they went not into the hall, that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the pasch.


And concerning the word which I and thou have spoken, the Lord be between thee and me for ever.


And when the king sat down upon his chair (according to custom) which was beside the wall Jonathan arose; and Abner sat by Saul's side; and David's place appeared empty.


And David said to Jonathan: Behold, to-morrow is the new moon, and I according to custom am wont to sit beside the king to eat. Let me go then that I may be hid in the field till the evening of the third day.
